Can you keep up? Can I?

Yet again, I am embarking on an adventure. I have signed up for a half-marathon in the fall, and a training program for it that starts next Tuesday.

15 weeks.

13.1 miles.

I don’t quite have the mileage base that I need to get going, but I took a run today to catch up a bit. We shall see…training in the nastiness that is a DC summer should be interesting. Also of note, I was in this same program 5 years ago when we were starting with ART, and my doc told me to stop running. Maybe I can get my old body back too!

If you want to follow my status, I’ve added a widget on my sidebar.

Go you! Let me know if you want any help with V so you can do the long runs. We can cheer you on from a set point or wait for you back in your air-conditioned house :-)

So can the rest of us drink wine and eat cheese and crackers when you are running in NC? Go you!

I’m so excited for you! This is a fabulous goal and you are gonna be awesome!

I did a marathon walk when I was in grad school and my training was completely during the summer. It’s doable, just make sure you’ve got enough fluids and a fully stocked iPod. I found that the best place to train was up Tk La, around Old G Rd and through my parents’ neighborhood (available shade, no matter the time of day).

I wish I liked running. Can you send some of that good running juju over here please because my muffin tops are getting on my nerves! Good luck! I am excited for you. It’s a good goal.
